Along the Gardesana street, just before Gargnano, is the junction that leads to Tignale, a city with several boroughs and about 1'300 inhabitants.
This village has been settled since the ancient age and was an important centre during the Roman Empire. Tignale was for a long time under Austrian dominion before it became Italian.
In the 13th century the pilgrimage church of Madonna di Monte Castello was raised to refuge by Mastino I della Scala.
Today, Tignale is a well known holiday destination both for its breathtaking views and the possibility of doing long and peaceful walks and excursions.
